Pendle Witch Kitchen Busier Than Ever

The Pendle Witch, is a pub which dates back, to 1800′s, has a lot of character, so I developed a theme inspired by the witch that appear’s on the marketing of the Pendle beers, and combined this with olde-worldy text, which then sat on a sunset background. It is immediately recognisable and very strong, the regular customers noticed the new menu design within seconds of reaching the bar.

Jason Baxter – Chef at Pendle Witch

Pendle Witch is not just the name of the pub, its also a real ale unique in taste provided by the Moorhouse brewery. The brewery provide a wide selection of real quality ales, which provide me with the perfect opportunity to infuse these flavours into the food, for example, The homemade ‘Black Cat’ steak and ale pie, often appears on our special board due to repeated requests.

To promote the specials on offer, I re-created the familiar specials board, which is used to promote the daily changing offers. The chalky handwritten font was perfect to imitate the actual board Jason uses, so the association is instant. They needed a general menu and also one to promote, their pie and pint offer. I managed to keep them very similar and matching, yet incorporate the pie and pint offer with a fantastic photo of the meal.

“I am very happy with Rachel’s use of initiative in regards to the research and thought put in before the menu design began. There was no hassle, no pompousness, we got more than we could have expected. Finally, with the introduction of the new menus, we have been even busier than normal.”

I’m delighted the The Pendle Witch pub is happy with the menus. I have been a customer of The Pendle Witch and have enjoyed the friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and even tasted the home made pies on offer. I had pork and mushroom with creamed asparagus and it was delicious, so I’m thrilled that the menus do the pub food the justice and respect it deserves.
